Built on the Chesapeake Bay to a design by then young Naval Architect, Olin Stephens in 1936 for Mr. James Lowe of Grand Rapids, Michigan, a member of the Chicago Yacht Club and the New York Yacht Club. The designer was charged with drawing the lines of a swift yacht capable of winning the Chicago to Mackinaw Race. She proved sucsessful and went on to be sailed by numerous prominent yachtsmen, including John F. Kennedy.
